Bread and Jam

This is a cookery course for those with or without experience in making bread and jam. Discover the satisfaction of working with flours and seasonal fruit to create beautiful breads and mouthwatering jams. This is a hands-on course with some tutor demonstrations. All recipes, ingredients, equipment, jars and lids will be provided.

Following a few simple techniques and using equipment often found in domestic kitchens, learn how to make bread using different flours and techniques. Discover how to make traditional jams, source ingredients and equipment from the best pans to quality jars and lids.
Monday
Multi-seeded Bread rolls. (Demonstration)
Raspberry and Chocolate Jam.
Tuesday
Multi -seeded Bread rolls. (Practical)
Black Currant and Chilli Jam.
Wednesday
Dried Fruit Bread.
Overnight fermented loaf part 1
Thursday
Overnight fermented loaf part 2.
Gooseberry and Ginger Jam
Friday
Devonshire Splits
Spelt Bread.

Essential Equipment for individuals to bring to the course
Apron
Pencil
Boxes and bags for bread and jam made during the week.
