Bread and Jam at Marlborough College Summer School

By the end of this course, you will feel confident making handmade bread and jam with which to impress your family and friends. You will learn how to make four bread and three jam recipes using traditional methods and acquire the skills of kneading, shaping and baking bread along the way. Midweek, you will discover how flour is made from wheat with a tour of Wessex Mill. The tutor will guide you through the stages of jam making from selecting ingredients to pouring perfectly set jam into jars. This is a hands-on course with some demonstrations and is suitable for those with or without experience in making bread and jam. All the recipes, ingredients and equipment for the course will be provided so you can continue baking and preserving at home.
